We are an independent, family-run, specialist whisky shop in Gourock, Scotland. Owned by whisky nerds!


We don't just sell whisky - browse from our range of whisky, gin, rum, vodka, grappa and cigars. If you can't make up your mind, we also sell gift vouchers and tasting tickets - all are available online and in-store.

Meet the Team


Allan Beaton - Whisky Nerd

Allan loves to talk about drams and can pinpoint the perfect bottle using his well honed questioning techniques! Allan also advises on cask purchases for investment and delivers private whisky tastings.


Giulia Canata - Arts & Drams

Giulia is a whisky enthusiast and loves a heavily peated dram but is more than happy to delve into the non-peats, gin, cigars and rum too. Giulia is a graphic designer and works mostly behind the scenes to keep the shop, website and Allan looking good.

Staff Favourites

Allan loves all whisky so can't choose a favourite bottle and Giulia is a smokehead so will always opt for a peaty dram but it is a very personal choice so they will ask you plenty of questions until the find the perfect dram for you!


What makes you unique?

We offer a tailored service and will suggest drinks to suit your likes and palate. We cater for all tastes, budgets and levels of experience. We focus on products you won't see in a supermarket so you will find local products and bottles from independent distillers and bottlers.

Accessibility

The shop is extremely small and has a small step at the front door but we have a ramp that we can quickly install for easier entry - just ask and we will get it.


Dog Friendly

We love dogs, we have biscuits and water for furry customers so are always glad to welcome dogs (especially our regular visitor, Gorgeous George).

 

Sustainability

We only use recyclable packaging and our single-use taster glasses are compostable so we return them after use to the manufacturer to be decomposed. We use recycled paper for our literature where possible and support local litter picking events.

Our Recommendations


Things we would do while visiting Gourock

In summer, visit the heated outdoor pool. In winter or summer, walk the prom and take in the beautiful views and do some marine life spotting for dolphins, whales, seals and porpoises (and plenty of humans on paddleboards, kayaks and wetsuits)! While you are at here, stop at the beach, go for a paddle in the clyde and skim some stones. After this, stop at Kempock Street for some retail therapy, food or a drink.


Things we would do while visiting Gourock/Inverclyde

If you enjoy the great outdoors, a walk around the Cut, up Tower Hill or through Ardgowan Estate will provide spectacular views and wildlife. Our local golden sandy beach at Lunderston Bay is beautiful and worth a visit for a paddle and a play in the fantastic play area, followed by a trip across the road to the Cardwell Garden Centre for a cuppa and cake - it's only a short bus trip from Kempock Street. A boat trip on the Clyde shouldn't be missed and there are a couple of tour operators available to spot marine life and see the river in action.
