Gourock is on the NCR75 and NCR753 which run from North Lanarkshire to Inverkip - these are part of the National Cycle Network's signed paths and routes for walking, wheeling, cycling and exploring outdoors;
Gourock is only 40 minutes drive from Glasgow and has free parking areas;
There are 2/3 trains an hour to Glasgow which take 40-50 minutes;
Gourock has two ferry terminals which connect with Argyll;
Gourock has excellent bus routes running along the coast from Largs to Glasgow;
There are panoramic walking routes thoughout Gourock - both flat and hilly so ideal for day trips and families.
Travel westbound on M8 and then A8, through Port Glasgow and Greenock.
Travel north on A78 and then A770, through Largs, Wemyss Bay and Inverkip.
Ferries arrive in Gourock and also Wemyss Bay, Largs and Ardrossan all of which have road, rail and bus links.

There is a lot of parking in Gourock. Free parking discs are available at most local shops.

Upper and Lower Kempock Street: Monday to Saturday - 1 to 3 hours free on-street parking with a parking disc (check signs for time limits)
Lower Kempock Street Car Park: Monday to Friday - use ticket machines to obtain a free ticket for up to 2 hours or a £2 ticket for full day - please note that the ticket machines only take cash and parking discs are not valid in the car park.
Station Road North and South car parks are situated adjacent to Gourock Station: Monday to Friday - use ticket machines to obtain a £2 ticket for full day - please note that the ticket machines only take cash and parking discs are not valid in the car park.
Cycle route NCR75 runs through the centre of Gourock and runs east to North Lanarkshire via Kilmacolm and Paisley. Cycle route NCR753 (north) runs from Gourock to Inverkip. Cyclists on the ferries from Dunoon/Kilcreggan can arrive in Gourock town centre or at McInroy's Point which is about 1.5 miles from Kempock Street on the NCR753 (north). The NCR routes are traffic-free so are suitable for all ages and abilities.

The Gourock to Glasgow Central line has 2/3 trains per hour Monday-Saturday and 2 per hour on a Sunday. Trains take 40-50 minutes and once the train has passed Bishopton, prepare for splendid views of the River Clyde and coastal scenery.
